Systems Engineer
Location: Okehampton, UK
We are currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join our busy team, working with our Lead systems Engineer in support of AutoNaut’s electrical and auxiliary systems.
About the Role
The role involves the installation, integration and testing of electronic control systems and offshore environmental monitoring instruments.
Responsibilities include:
- Electrical systems design
- Development of new and prototype systems.
- Integration of new instruments and improvements.
- Manufacture of cable assemblies involving internal assembly and external suppliers.
- Manufacture of the electrical system.
- Develop and maintain system documentation.
- Data collection and storage.
- Installation and assembly of vessel electrical, electronic and communication systems.
- Testing of vessel systems pre-deployment before shipping.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience of electrical system design and integration, experience of marine environment and marine systems and experience of operating or working on small vessels is beneficial.
Educated to a minimum HNC level in electronic engineering, IT or systems engineering.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales & Business Development Executive with expertise in Marine Autonomy, specifically in the areas of Uncrewed and Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs), and in novel underwater sensing. This role requires a deep understanding of the marine science, defence, offshore renewables, and offshore oil & gas sectors, as well as the ability to identify and pursue business opportunities related to Marine Autonomy solutions.
The postholder will be responsible for developing business relationships and opportunities, in order to accelerate our sales growth in this area for the organisation.
The candidate would preferably have a proven track record of successful business development and sales in the marine industry with ideally a focus on marine autonomy solutions and have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
The successful candidate’s key responsibilities will include:
