Business Development and Sales Executive
Location: Hybrid – Combination of office (Seiche and AutoNaut), homeworking, domestic and international travel.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development & Sales Executive with expertise in Marine Autonomy, specifically in the areas of Uncrewed and Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs), and in Special Operations, in the areas of novel underwater sensing.
This role requires a deep understanding of the marine science, defence, offshore renewables, and offshore oil & gas sectors, as well as the ability to identify and pursue business opportunities related to Marine Autonomy solutions
Core Hours: 8.30am-5.00pm, with half an hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday, with the occasional need to work overtime (by agreement). Flexible working considered. Occasional weekend working depending on work requirements. Inter-company site visits Domestic and international travel.

Salary: Dependent on experience.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Achieve business development targets and revenue goals set by the company
- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts, reports, and pipelines
- Build and nurture strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Conduct business in compliance with legal, ethical, and industry standards
- Collaborate with the product development team to provide market insights and customer feedback for product enhancements and new solution development
- Seek input and guidance from senior management on strategic initiatives and key client relationships
- Engage with cross-functional teams, such as marketing and operations, to align business development efforts with company goals
- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the marine science, defence, offshore renewables, and offshore oil & gas sectors
- Participate in relevant industry conferences, workshops, and events to stay updated on the latest developments
- Share market intelligence and competitive analysis with marketing and management teams to inform strategic decision-making
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients in the marine science, defence, offshore renewables, and offshore oil & gas sectors
- Develop and implement business strategies to position the company as a leader in Marine Autonomy solutions
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies related to Marine Autonomy
Business Development:
- Identify and establish relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the target sectors
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including the preparation of proposals, negotiations, and contract agreements
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals for clients
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling
- Provide exceptional customer service and act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and aligning solutions accordingly
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company’s Marine Autonomy solutions and expand the client base
Market Expansion:
- Identify and evaluate potential new markets and applications for Marine Autonomy solutions, seeking diversification and growth opportunities
- Collaborate with the product development team to assess market needs and drive innovation in Marine Autonomy solutions
- Provide input and insights on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape to inform product development and marketing strategies

Experience:
- Proven track record of successful business development and sales in the marine industry, with a focus on Marine Autonomy solutions
- Experience of working in a similar role and/or environment
- Demonstrable evidence of developing and sustaining positive working relationships
- Proven ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) at all levels
- Experience of working to deadlines in a sometimes-pressurised environment
- Proven experience of managing sensitive and confidential data
Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of Uncrewed and Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) and their applications in the marine science, defence, offshore renewables, and offshore oil & gas sectors
- Strong network of contacts and relationships within the target sectors
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Marine Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- Must drive due to location, client, and site visits

Document Controller - P/T
We are currently recruiting for a part-time Document Controller at our site in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
Principal accountabilities:
- Experience as a document and/or CAD controller
- Logging and issuing part, drawing, and checking/updating revision numbers
- Adding tag/meta data to drawings and model assemblies/sub-assemblies
- Receiving and checking drawings and component lists and BOM’s ensuring their correctness
- Distributing documents to the correct departments
- Act as diplomatic gatekeeper to the PDM system and offer suggestions to improve workflow to the engineering manager
- Using various online portal systems and databases
- Maintain a PDM and engineering filing system to the standards required
- Be happy to join in and adhere to office policies and procedures
- Handle requests/queries from management
- Order office supplies
- Maintain contacts
- Keep data sheets and other document updated and accessible
The ideal candidate will have:
- Good PDM knowledge, ideally Solidworks
- Understanding of mechanical engineering and workshop processes
- Understanding of office management systems and procedures
- Understanding of the CAD/CAM/CNC route to manufacturing
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 3D drafting & design software
- Working knowledge of office equipment e.g., printers, scanners Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience, mechanical engineering CAD based
- Marine or engineering background would be useful Education & Certification
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Mechanical Engineering Graduate with working experience
- Training provided
- Must drive due to location, client and site visits
